Good week
What a lot of nice postings on the blog recently!
I just got an early 50th birthday present from Health Partners--a message to make a colonoscopy appointment.

Well, I guess I should post something here every now and then.
I liked NYC a lot. A lot. I also liked Barnard to the same degree. Speaking of college I got my SAT scores (2nd time) back today and I got a 670 on both sections. Good balance I believe. Not like this will decide my future forever, but I just thought I'd put it down.
I'm in the play at my school and rehearsal is "killer." You tennis people think you have it hard, try this for once. We are doing The Canterbury Tales in modern English. It will be very cool. I am the Wife of Bath.
Well, that's all for now. Holla back.

twins win
youre right mom, it was quite a game. you did fail to inform the family that I attended the game. thats right, I was there for all 15 innings. twins won 7-6. I dont really wanna talk about it right now, I am too tired. and I have to go to lunch. peace.
How about those Twins
While listening to the Twins game on WCCO I got all the dishes washed that the guys used while Mark & I were gone to Illinois!! When we were in Illinois we finished a new bathroom on my parents' first floor (painting, not plumbing or electrical work) and Mark did great work for my sister... putting together cabinets and putting up curtain rods.
We were happy to see that her mailbox is still standing, which Mark put up in the dark of night. It indeed looks like a beautiful spring in Georgia! Good night, All... Nancy

Just Flew Back From NYC....
(yeah, and are my arms tired...)
Good trip to NYC, but even better to be home. Looks like we missed the good weather here, and that the week ahead in Minnesota will give us the same cold spring weather we had out east. It was interesting seeing Ground Zero how... underwhelming it seemed - like just another big construction site. A block away we found more striking the exhibit at St. Paul's chapel:
Out of the Dust,
all about the part their chapel played in the days after 9/11.
Also interesing was the tribute at the New-York Historical Society, by Christopher Evans, a spherical painting of the view from the south tower:

Back to St. Paul
We're glad you're keeping us so informed of everything going on in your (and Norris's) life, Stevie. Yes, we were in NYC and had no Internet access (except through Joel's Palm Pilot which doesn't lend itself to long blog entries). Of course, Liv loved Barnard/Columbia and had a lot of fun hanging out with Emily L., including attending three classes. Joel and I stayed at the Excelsior Hotel which turned out to be beautiful with a great location (I had booked it through Expedia and they had changed the hotel three times so we weren't too confident). We overlooked a park surrounding the American Museum of Natural History and at the other end of the block was Central Park. There was a dog run right across from us and so we saw many New Yorkers and their dogs--one set in matching raincoats and hats! Joel and I went to the Metropolitan Museum of Art TWICE and saw "Madame Butterfly" at Lincoln Center. Liv, Emily, and we all met Mae for lunch on Saturday in the Columbia area. And we talked to Terrell on the phone twice, even though he couldn't get us into BMG for free.
It's good to be home.

happy spring break
hey guys. I am like the only person who ever says anything on the blog. this is ridiculous. I guess that joel, teresa and liv are in ny and my parents are in Ill. but still. norris and I went to the club today. boy oh boy was it fun. we did some upper body and lower body workouts and stuff like that. then we ran a mile and did some abs. upon leaving the club we went to lake calhoun and ran all the way around it. we think that it is a little over three miles but we dont know exactly how far it is. we saw his boss and her friend erikah. I think she had a thing for me but I'm not quite sure. then we went to noodles and norris graciously treated me to the pasta fresca. it was really good. then we got some jamba juices. whoo what a day. well see ya later. peace.

my parents will be going out of town to visit my grandparents, so I guess I will have the house to myself for the most part. apparently tom is going to be sleeping here while they're gone, but you know. peace.

here i am with a needle in my arm
i am at memorial blood center typing one- handed because instead of watching a movie i can go online... wonders never cease! they treat one very well here... i'm supposed to be squeezing the little inflated ball i have in my hand so the blood will not stop coming. if i forget, alarms sound, so i need to be careful. i am giving platelets today, so i'll be here a couple of hours.
i love these portraits of fred and mae. how pretty she is. i was remembering yesterday how we used to celebrate our birthdays together with betty also on the 23rd. i'm glad that now i have someone to celebrate with me again, maria!
i didn't put my b-day greeting to you on the blog on sunday, sorry. the pic of the atlanta folks was lovely too!
i'm glad your surgery went well, peter.
i suppose y'all have noticed that it has been awhile since i have piped up on the blog. i enjoy checking in often to find out what my son is doing at school... and the pictures you post of me are certainly flattering...
oops... my alarm is going off. i forgot to squeeze. i bet you all wish you were here. they just put a nice warm pack on my neck... ahhh! talk to you again soon. nancy

nice photos
matt, thanks for putting those up for us, those are really neat.. I've downloaded them and will be printing them..
for those of you who are interested, i downloaded matt's photos below and restored them a little bit (taking out scratches, creases, etc). I can email them to you or bring them on a cd if you're interested.. (here are kind of how the restored ones look:
p.s. i had surgery on my arm today to remove a lump that has been causing some pain. They removed it and stitched me up again in about 15 minutes. It turned out to be a Lipoma, a fatty mass. I'm doing just fine now though.

To celebrate our Dad (or Grandpa's) 82nd birthday today, I am posting these two handsome portraits of Fred and Mae. I saw these pictures hanging in John and Lynda's den while Janelle and I were visiting them, and they were nice enough to let me scan them at a local camera store. If you would like to download these images, please click on the link below. I will leave the high resolution pictures up for a few weeks.

tales of a dying generation
hey guys. the birthday party was alot of fun. we all had a fun time playing imagine if. what a fun game! today I have been reading "no longer at ease" by chinua achebe. its a really good book. I am supposed to finish it by 6th hour tomorrow and I still have like 94 pages left. thats not too bad I guess. in my freshman year I read the book "things fall apart" by the same author, so it is pretty cool to keep the cycle going. oh yeah, and I have the biggest project of the year due in chemistry tomorrow and I havent even started. i think I have like a 10 minutes presentation to give and everything. well whatever. who knows. maybe I will sneak into the library tomorrow to give a report on how it turned out. maybe not... peace.

Happy Birthday Maria and Nancy!
We had a wonderful time over at mom and dad's house tonight.. Happy Birthday to the Birthday girls.. maybe next year you'll be able to share your cake better :)
Back from Las Vegas
Maria and I had a wonderful time in Sunny Las Vegas, Nevada last week. We left Minneapolis - 20 degrees and windy and landed in Las Vegas 80 degrees and sunny. What a difference a 3 hour flight can make!
While we were there we had the chance to enjoy all sorts of activities. One of them was watching the fountains at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino (see the picture below). The fountains would go off every 15 minutes, and the water would shoot into the sky in choreographed movements with the music.. It was one of the most beautiful things we've ever seen. The picture you're looking at was taken from the top of the Eiffel Tower Replica that they have at Paris Las Vegas Hotel and Casino
Some of the other things we did while we were there include going to a show done by the Cirque du Soleil (Mystere), visiting the various casinos, going to the red rock canyon, going to see Sigfried and Roy's Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat, visiting the Hoover Dam, and much much more.

greetings from the confines of south high school
hello. this is the youngest anderson male, stevie. I am writing to all of you from within the thick walls of south high. it is approximately 2:25 p.m. on friday the 19th of May, 2004. today, I do not have a sixth hour. therefore, I have come to the media center to post some good stuff for all of you to read. I am not supposed to be in here right now. I an unlocked door to sneak in. it is usually locked, but for the past few days it has been unlocked, so I have used it to sneak in hear a couple of times. yesterday I had a debate about stem cell research in my philosophy class. I did really well(I wish I could say the same for my other team members...). anyways, I found it to be an interesting topic. in the debate I was pro stem cell research, but I still have not decided on a position for myself in real life. I am leaning towards pro stem cell research at the moment, but this may be due in part to my spectacular performance arguing for it. I was just wondering what other people thought about it. if anyone is interested or whatever, you could just send me an email about it, sort of like tom's presidential election thingy. my email is s_tv@juno.com peace.

Working for the UN
Hi all:
I've been corresponding with my friends at WHO about doing more work for them. Except for my June travel expenses, I have not been reimbursed for anything I've done yet, however (about $1,500). I have submitted two invoices under my APW ("Agreement for Payment of Work") contract, but have yet to get a check. Supposedly, the system is just very slow. SO, my friend Philippe asked if I'd like to go under a WAE ("When Actually Employed") contract. I said "sure," only to be engaged in many more vexations. After providing them with a CV, they requested detailed documentation on my qualifications as a website evaluation expert (which was hard, as I have none--they are the ones who made me one!) Then today I received an email with an attached "Medical Clearance Certificate" which requires me to undergo a complete "United Nations medical examination" (complete with chest x-rays, checks for "troubles nerveus ou mentaux," "sang dans les selles," and examination of "organes genitaux.") This is to verify that I could withstand possible work under "difficult field conditions in areas having many health risks."
I think I am going to offer to work pro bono.

speechy keen
Today was a "small team" speech meet. It was in Brooklyn Center. It was fun. I won first place in my category (extemporaneous Speaking). I also met some folks from Mpls. South. I said "Hey, do you know Stevie Anderson?" and one of them said "Yeah! At our cross-country banquet he barraged our coach with a bag of tennis balls." and I said "That's him." It was pretty cool. Stevie, do you know a guy named Parker? He has blonde hair and wears glasses and a corduroy suit. He is also cool. I will email you a story about him. Do you know his friend John either?
Well, that's my ramble.

yo whats up. I am trying desperately to procrastinate as long as possible before I have to write this paper and journal thing for school thats due tomorrow. this class is hard. pretty much every single person gets basically straight A's but not here. lots of people, including myself, are getting B's and C's on lots of the assignments, but just because he grades so hard. I am actually hoping to get a B on this assignment. what a world. oh yeah, there was this thing in spanish. we were supposed to make up some presentation in the language of spanish, you know. so anyways mine was actually coming along great, and then my teacher lost all of my work that I handed in to her, so basically I have to start over from scratch. it is actually kind of a blessing in disguise, because now I dont have to present tomorrow, and I can concentrate my efforts on this english paper. oops, I forgot about that. see ya later. peace.

I dont really wanna type about it right now, ok. so anyways I was lookin around, and man, the facilities are much nicer there than at northwest. it makes northwest look like a minneapolis park building. lots of free towels. anyways, I am pretty sleepy, so good night.

Loch Ness.... Shakopee..... What next?
Yes, thanks to photography, we're now able to learn about and see evidence of things we might never encounter in real life! Not only do we know the Loch Ness monster exists, but now those of us in far off places (like St. Paul) know that there really IS an Anderson household in Shakopee!

Politics....con't
Hello! Tom, to e-mail you, wouldn't it be really cool if we knew your e-mail? And don't you obviously know I'm a Nader supporter. (Just kidding) But on a real political news watch, yesterday I attended my "ultra-liberal" caucus. It was super fun. Oh, did I mention about getting elected as Associate Precinct Chair? Well, I am. I like to say this is step 3 towards being president. (Step one: being born in the United States, Step two: Getting out of bed)
Today I may get my "written critique" back from my music audition. I am expecting it to say "Why did you even waste my time. Love, Sister Rose."

Politics
Hey Family,
Hello Gustaf- Your swedish influenced english is better than 86 % of the American Andersons. Also, I thought it was quite nice that you have found us on the internet and posted with us. Just as a note of warning- don't ever take anything my little brother posts as serious or in any way important. And Liv (whose ultra-liberal politics come out more on her blog, since it may or may not be censored here) is just going through a phase- whatever that means. I'm just kidding, of course you know that. The new game I propose is this: help Tom decide who to vote for for President. You can e-mail him privately because we like to keep politics off the blog. I'll report back anonymously what the tally counts is: Like (3 votes for Bush, 4 for Kerry and 12 for Andre the Giant).
Whaddaya say?
Gustaf- whose Sweden rooting for? Never mind.

la familia de naranjas...
so I went to school today. it was pretty boring. in my third hour class there is this kid who is really weird. we were in groups today discussing a chapter in this book that we read. he was reading part of it out loud to his fellow group members and he kept saying aquanus instead of aquinas. I corrected him, but he just continued saying it incorrectly.
I went to tennis and this guy gave me a tennis racket just like my other three. it may not sound like a big deal, but it is a 120 dollar racket. thanks bilbo. his name isnt bilbo, but I suspected that some of my readers may have become bored with my trivialities by this point. peace.

Remembering Betty Anderson
February 28 Nancy and I attended a memorial service for Betty Anderson sister of my late mother in law Roberta Worrell. The event was held at the St Anthony Park Nursing Home where Betty resided until her death about two weeks ago at age 91 years . Her daughter Karen Anderson Singh had called us and invited us to the service. Betty played cello and was a member of the Minnesota Orchestra 1952-1979. Apparently she was one of the first female musicians to join a major symphony orchestra. Karen and several friends shared memories of Betty and a young woman played seveal musical selections on the cello. Karen, formerly a violist with the Milwaukee Symphony, is living at the Augustana Apartments in Minneapolis.
Just a note
My mom was right. I think I messed up because I was waiting outside the room with my brother, while everyone else was there with their parents who were yelling at them. The group before me was all piano, so you could hear it through the walls and the parents kept making comments like "Oh, no. She's going too fast, don't we always tell her to slow down?" [sigh]. But whatever, I met Sr. Rose.

Norris
I just wanted to mention (as Norris never would) that he was named "2003 Team Player of the Year" for the Rosedale Marshall Field's store.
And our little Livvi'i was invited to audition for her music school's honors concert. She said she messed up, though. Probably because her parents weren't even available to drive her to the audtion, being too busy playing up in Osseo!

yo what up.
so I made a decision about next year. today I signed up for another college in the schools class. it should be pretty good. there is still a chance that I could get into the Humphrey VOICES class that I was talking about before. well, whatever.
I went out to northwest of course today. I played tennis for a couple hours and then worked out. I didnt do much though, except eat a bag chili cheese fritos. then I played basketball for like an hour. well, I am pretty tired so I am going to go watch some tv. peace.

I still need to fulfill those specific credits, so I wouldnt be able to do full time at the U anyways. there is still a chance that I could get into Humphreys. if I dont, I will still have some pretty good options.
so norris went and worked out at northwest and everything. anyways, on the way there we were driving on blaisdale ave. in the southern direction towards lake street. as we were going past the supervalue/kmart parking lot a homeless man went running along, under, over, around and through the street. he was being chased by some unidentified persons. it appeared that the man being chased had stolen something but it was not clear what. I have a grip of homework to do tonight, so I better start drinking my coffee. nightie night. peace.

Based on your current frustration and frequent boredom, why not consider applying for full-time PSEO classes next year? The application deadline for the U of MN is April 1 (http://www2.cce.umn.edu/ahs/programbackground.htm)

hello
so here I am at school. there was this class that I was hoping on taking next year, but I was not accepted. it was really dumb. I went and talked to the teacher of the class and he basically told me that they did a random drawing. since I talked to him and everything there is still a possibility that I could still get in to the class. today we had to register for classes for next year. I didnt really do it though. the lady told me to think about it for a a couple of days and come back to her. so, basically I am skipping the rest of my third hour. peace.

Hello! Nice to hear from you, Gustaf!
Dad (aka John) has been riding a new kind of recumbent bicycle lately (this is him in front of our house):

Nice outfit, Dad. I've been busy with Graduate Recruitment Weekend this weekend--the Delph lab as "Friends" poster was a big hit. I'm enjoying my role as Phoebe!
Bye,
Ingrid

Gustaf
Gustaf--what a nice surprise!!!
We would love to have you visit again. And we would love to visit Sweden (and will someday). Did you receive email from Sandy Williams recently? Dale and Sandy's son Jonathan is planning on visiting Sweden and wants to study Swedish.
We have been curious about the picture on your mother's Christmas card... can you explain exactly what it is or what it represents? Is it a Yule tomte or Santa standing in a bowl of coals, chestnuts, or candy?
Your English is great. Don't take English language lessons from our blog... especially not from our inner city high school students, Stevie and Liv.

GUSTAF!!! WOW!!! YAY!!!
Tom---I am doing a project on Cuba for school (planning a trip) could I make some copies of some pictures of yours or something or advice or whatever. You can email me at livand@aol.com rather than write it on the blog for everyone to see.
School is very boring. Especially health. Luckily I have the idiot to teach me, so we do just a little busy work and he yells things like "Crack don't smoke itself!" and "The Big One's coming up! March 17th! I'm half-Irish [pause] Big Ma's 100%" Oy vey.

old school
Hey everyone,
Gustaf, it is pretty chill that you posted some stuff on the blog. I cant believe that it was 1998 that you were here. 6 years ago, where does the time go?
so today I got up at 6:10 to do homework. I have gotten into the habit of doing so because I am so tired after tennis that it is just easier to get up early than stay up late. It is good because I can have a good breakfast and today I even made coffee. the hw that I got up to do was an essay for an application for a class that I want to be in next year. it is for seniors and it is kind of exclusive. I dont think I will have any trouble getting into the class, even though I am a bit of a slacker. English and Social Studies are my favorite and best subjects and thats what this class is. it is a block class actually. well, anyways, the application was due today. after school I am going to tennis out at northwest. after tennis I am planning on working out with danny and christina, but I dont think that they will fill norris' size 13 shoes. well, I think that I am going to go do some reading now. ms. hoyt said that I could do whatever I wanted, since I finished my assignment so quickly. peace.

Tom, Stevie and Norris
Tom, we are glad you are safe... it sounds like a horrible experience. It's good you have a big heart, but maybe next time you shouldn't immediately run outside when you hear gunshots. Just a thought.
Stevie, I did not tell Norris what you wrote about him. He happened to be here and I told him to read about Tom on the blog. However, I will tell your classmates what you think of them.

el dia de nuestro amor
hola familia,
tom, are you ok? wow, I know that you are physically unscathed, but I am sure that there will definitely be lasting emotional consequences stemming from this horrific experience of yours. anyways, this is stevie. I am in fifth hour right now. it sure has been a while since I have been in the computer lab for one of my classes. this time it is chemistry. I am supposed to be researching alfred nobel and his invention of dynamite, but you know. my class is so ghetto. it is unbelievable. everyone in my class is really dumb, I just hope that they don't glance at my computer and read all of the horrible things I am saying about them. it probably doesnt matter much anyways, since they wouldn't understand most of the vocabulary that I use in my high class talkin. I am back to normal pretty much with regards to my physical activities. I played tennis everyday last week, and am planning to do the same this week. norris and I have been working out together. it is alot of fun to make fun of the people there. one guy looks like billy graham. the resemblance is remarkable. so anyways, we are getting into pretty good shape I think. norris is pretty strong. he was better than me at the free weights. but to tell the truth(dont tell norris that I said this, that means you teresa) he cant do a set of pull-ups to save his life. well, I better get going. ms. hoyt just walked by and I had to pretend that I was looking things up on google. she already likes me, since I am the only one in her class that does my work, but I still am going to try to stay on her good side. peace.
pete, did you say two bedrooms?... when are you going?

At 2:00 I hear the gunshot and looked out my window to see the woman screaming. I grabbed my phone and ran across the street and the suspect was gone. The woman, who was the girlfriend of the dead man, was sprawled over his body and I will spare you any details, but I was right there standing over them talking to the 911 operator and trying to ask the woman questions. So I saw the victim very close up and so there is a very graphic image of the whole thing burned in my mind.
I am doing okay though, at first the image was relentlessly with me, but I have come to be able to control it now and am happy to be feeling quite fine.
that is all,
Tom.

Tom,
we're all very thankful that you're safe after that horrible incident.. were you interviewed by the police? Did you see the man who was shot, and was the suspect still around when you went out side? We'll have to talk more about it later.. hope you're doing ok after all that..
Maria and I are going to Las Vegas March 7th-14th. Maria's parents generously allowed us to use a week of their banked timeshare time. We'll be staying at the beautiful Polo Towers right on the Vegas strip (next door to the MGM Grand). Click here to view.
We got a huge 2 bedroom/2bath/full kitchen suite, so we'll be living in luxury all week. Here is our room's layout:
We can't wait! Any suggestions any of you have on places to go/see are appreciated.

You may have heard they just caught the suspect in a double murder case in Minneapolis.
One of the murders you can read about happened outside my living room window. I heard a shot and a woman screaming for help, ran outside, saw the victim and made the 911 call. I am okay.

Older than dirt...
Thanks for the b-day wishes. It was great to see the picture from BRAG 1994, 10 years ago this summer. It's been raining non-stop down here for days, but at least it's way above freezing. I guess I'll go down and ride in the basement. I'll try to get a picture of me on my new (used) 7 foot long bike -- long as a car and almost as comfortable. We're looking forward to seeing Matt and Janelle in a couple of weeks. Have fun everybody...

Deployment
More prayers needed...
Many of you know my friend (and former dental assistant) Kris. Her husband Brian is being deployed to Iraq next month for 18 months. She and her younger daughter Kara are having a hard time with this.

Fight Club
Tom, your Fight Club reference made no sense to everyone over at 2344, except me, so I wound up having to act out the major plot of the film for them. The first time I went to Norris's (and really, most times after that) I kept thinking that Norris's alter ego would blow the place up...maybe Norris should start going to support groups.

Strangely enough, while looking at Norris' people magazine in his bathroom on Sunday, for the first time I thought to myself-"For Pete's sake, I look like Justin Timberlake!" note the rhyme in my thought. I have also been told I look like Heath Ledger. Norris your pad is real nice, just don't be carried away by your possessions (did I see Fight Club).

grammys
While watching the Grammy's last night, my mother (aka "Auntie Teresa") kept saying anytime Justin Timberlake came on screen "My stars, he looks like my little nephew Tommy" (not a direct quote, I just wanted to make her sound more outdated, it probably actually included a "fo shizzle" or two). Judge for yourself. For the first time ever I might concurr with her.

so today at school we were visited by the fine folks from def poetry jam. there was a rumor that Russell Simmons was going to be in attendance. disappointingly, he was not. still, the program was a smashing success. it was really cool. maybe I'll tell some of you more about this experience of mine at a later time. peace.

Happy Birthday, Matt!
I would have sent this wish earlier, but I was locked out of our house all day. I hope you had a great day! You certainly are blessed with a wonderful wife and a lovely home and of course such a nice family! Nancy

hey guys
hello ya'll. this is of course stevie. today was my first day back at tennis. it was pretty painful. I was disappointed at the level to which I have sunk. I was not able to hit serves, overheads or backhands very well at all. a couple of times i tried to go all out on some backhands and they really really hurt alot.
I actually checked to see if i was bleeding. but other than that, its all gravy. peace.

Chutzpah
I sent the last edited chapter of my aunt's book to her last night and prepared to celebrate. My parents and I have expended much time and energy on this and I figure I have given her about $1,500 of my time. We had never heard whether of not she had the chutzpah to ask my rich cousin for the $10,000 she wanted to have 500 copies professionally printed. Well, today she called my parents and asked for money! This from a person who owns three homes in California, has lived in Europe for years at a time, etc. They are not donating to the cause and are suggesting that she start with printing 50 copies at Kinko's.
The "boys" are enjoying themselves in DisneyWorld now, although it has drizzled both days they've been there.

to whom it may concern:
what up family. I went to the doctor today and got my bandage taken off. the doctor says that the gash in my neck is healing very well(yeah right). he probably just said it to get more money or something. after he took of my bandage, he put another, much smaller and more maneuverable bandage on. I can take it off some time tomorrow. the good news is that I will be able to play tennis a little bit starting next week. I can't wait. well, I'll see all of you sometime later. peace.

Network Security Expert Meets 'Gator
let sleeping gators lie...
Norris and I have just taken a nice long bike ride around the island, which included a visit to the J.N. "Ding" Darling National Wildlife Refuge. Very nice and picturesque (and Norris took the pictures). He kept complaining about seeing NO gators... then we came on one, then another.... then another. All as ferocious and active a Koko in the sun... in fact the first one Norris was SURE was fake... till finally it flicked an eyelid....
Tomorrow on to Orlando.. and probably no more posts.... Stay warm!! It is COLD here... down to 44 last night!!

More info needed
Hi all:
I want to know more about your girlfriend, Tom. A week ago you said NOTHING and now you are having your FATHER take pictures of you kanoodling in the kitchen. And she is a supermodel and you look like a unhappy prisoner.
Our main computer got infected with this new worm just when the resident network security expert went to Florida. Fortunately, Liv's laptop still works. Matt is going to try to help us out. I am an international expert on website content only!
Speaking of which, tomorrow I have an international conference call with all the people whose websites I dissed. Pray for Mojo!

So Tom, who's this new girlfriend? Give us more details! (is it Becky Reeve? Maria seemed to think it was - I must have missed something...?) :)
edit: wow, she sure is tall Tom... is she standing on a chair? (lol) I'm happy you two got together, I always had a feeling that it would happen..

Mazel tov to Tom on the girlfriend (maybe this one won't get this url). Get well soon, Stevie.
I know I haven't posted in awhile, so here goes Liv's update:
-I've knit 2 scarves and a bag and am working on a pair of legwarmers
-I'm on the speech team and our first meet is on Feb. 7th. I'm doing extemporaneous speaking-international topics. Of course, as a first year speaker I choose the hardest category.
I guess that's all. Well, have a good Sunday, I'm off to sing with small children.

Good News
Hi everyone. Good news. Stevie is relieved to be on this side of his surgery. The surgeon said it was the best possible result, getting all of the cyst intact and preliminary microscopic check indicates it is benign...complete path. report on Monday.
He was really happy to get those great e-mail get well wishes. He slept most of the afternoon and didn't actually read them until this evening. They really perked him up!
Tomorrow morning we'll know if he will come home Friday or Saturday.
Have a great day, y'all. Love, Nancy

that last post of mine, from two minutes ago seemed a little somber for this crowd. I am not really as depressed or whatever as it might have suggested. I actually had a pretty good day. the start of the quarter was on tuesday and some of my classes were not to my liking. I switched out of orchestra(I hated it) and Gov/Econ. instead of gov/econ I now have ethics/philosophy which promises to be a much easier although more interesting class. instead of orchestra I dont have a first hour which means I will be able to sleep in an extra hour everyday for the rest of the semester. well, I'll talk to you all later. peace.

hey everyone, this is stevie. It is now approx. 10 hours and 30 minutes until my surgery on my neck. as you can tell I am definitely looking forward to it with wide open arms. well I guess I will talk to all of you later unless...
peace.
peace.

Up at "the lake"
Today marked the end of "Snow Village season" and we took down all our houses, stores, and cabins. Before I was willing to see it go, I got a cheap digital camera at Target (from the toy department, for $20) and snapped some pictures of the scene. Then, for fun I made the panorama above, adding in some "real" scenery... think of it as sort of a virtual Island Lake.
