osseo
so as you already read, I played osseo. I played second singles as always. Matt Nelson is the two singles player for osseo and he is decent. I played him last year and lost then I played him like a month later and killed him. then on friday evening, around five oclock I began another marathon match against my rival. the first set was mine, 6-3. in the second set my pace slackened as I fell to my worthy opponent, 6-1. during the third set we battled each other on serve until I was up 4-3 on his serve. on broke point we played the longest point of the match. we each hit probably 15 shots if not more. I won and went up 5-3, so I was serving for the match. because I was so tired from the previous point I double faulted the first point of the last game to put him up 15-0. then I lost the next point somehow. so I was down 0-30. I won two points in a row, I dont remember exactly how, but they were very good points. 30-30. here we had the tightest point of the match. I came to the net and hit a really weak volley. he tried to pass me by hitting a backhand down the line but I dove and got it back. then he tried to pass me down the line again and I had an even more spectacular dive. somehow I was able to get up quickly enough to attempt another dive to the other side of the court, but it was not meant to be. I was too slow. the ball went off the frame of my racket. now i was down 30-40. I dont remember exactly what happened here but I won the next three points and won the match. it was tight. some of my teammates said that the last two games of the match were the best that they had ever seen me play. well, I am going to go carve something for my mom for mother's day. first i need to find a stick, and a knife. peace.
Thank you all for the birthday wishes! Only a couple more years and I'll be thirty! ay yi yi...
Happy 28th!

Happy Birthday Peter!
Let me be the first to wish you a happy birthday, Peter. My bicentennial baby!
You were born on a Saturday... the day before Mother's Day. One of the four happiest days of my life... Okay, everyone... what are they?
We sure enjoyed the Canterbury Tales tonight. We snuck in (Of course we did buy tickets) a few minutes after it started, but Liv was being introduced just as we entered, so apparently we didn't miss anything important. You were great, Liv, and you were correct. It was very funny.
The reason we snuck in a bit late... Stevie... it was his fault! I was watching him play a great tennis match and he had to go to 3 sets. I left Osseo about 6:30 and the 94 East detour sent me on 94 west for a few miles and then turned me around. Pretty frustrating! He won, by the way. He was literally climbing the fences and throwing his body into the match. I hope he will tell you all about it.
Well, I see it is 12:04 on May 8th, so I will try to be the first. Happy Birthday Peter!
Love, Mom

Picnic on the 23rd
Hi Everyone,
I cant tell you all how much fun I had at Teresas b-day get together. Now that I am getting to know the family at another level now, it is so great to know that you are a goofy family just like my own. Anyways, I had a couple things I wanted to let everyone know about. Pete and I are planning on having our get together on the 23rd be a potluck type deal. I have sat down and figured out something that each household could bring. I hope that this is okay with everyone. I just figured that it would be easier this way.
Joel and Teresa: Pop
Paul: Chips and Kube
Matt and Janelle: Fruit salad
Mark and Nancy: Dessert
Also, everyone should bring their own meat, since we will be BBQing outside. If there are any games that you want to play other than Kube, please bring them. We have a huge park area with a gazeebo, so it will be perfect for playing kube. Pray for good weather too! I am really looking forward to it. We will also be e-mailing directions to everyone. We could post it on the blog, but who knows who is reading this and may start to stalk us at our home. Ha Ha.
Hope everyone is doing well and Happy early Mothers Day!
~Maria

Teresa's Rowdy Birthday!!!
We all had a fun time over at Joel and Teresa's house for Teresa's 50th Birthday - Happy Birthday Teresa! Some of us had more fun than others.. (see picture below).
We played games including Guesstures (see picture above), Stage II (which consisted mainly of questions relevant to 1960's and 1970's pop culture - for some of us, out of our realms of experience) and had a delicious meal of tacos. We topped it all of with Teresa's chocolate birthday cake, which was quite tasty.
Happy 50th!
