Shakopee Grass Fire
I got a phone call at work today from my next door neighbor telling me that our neighborhood was on fire, and that I better get home and get our dog, just in case the fire kept spreading.
The fire was huge (you may have seen it on the news), but after fighting the fire for 3-4 hours, the firefighters finally got it under control.
It was pretty scary for a while, but we're thankful for the fire department, that they were able to keep the fire at bay.
Check out some pictures here: Shakopee Fire

John sent out a link to a web page that mentions our Dad (Grandpa) Fred. So in honor of Dad's 87th birthday today, here it is...

news: heading south?
Hey family---It's been awhile since I've posted, sorry about that. I've been busy with school/work/playing with my pets. Well, here's some fun news. Your favorite niece/cousin/daughter/sister (aka me) got into Teach for America yesterday! I got placed in Baton Rouge/the Baton Rouge area to teach early childhood education. I'm still not 100% sure if I'm going to take it or not, I'll let you know, but as it stands I'm leaning that way.
Also, that pizza looks amazing!!
weekend fun!
Last weekend, Teresa, Norris and Liv headed off to Chicago for a Munch exhibition. Koko is less that satisfied with my caregiving it appears, since he spent a lot of time gazing longingly out the window waiting for Teresa to get back.

Meanwhile, Paul and I had a fun movie night with Matt, Janelle and Maizie, watching the classic "Be Kind, Rewind," and enjoying Janelle's excellent homemade pizza!

Dalmation envy?
That is so cute! I think that Koko is assuming the raincoat is for him. I have managed, finally, to enter the Anderson Family blog. You all know me and my computer skills. While I'm here I want to tell Janelle how lovely your solo was last week! and Maizie runs just like her cousin Stevie used to do. Here's to you and your energy level!

baQa!
In case you haven't heard, I have a small part in this year's production of "A Klingon Christmas Carol." Today's Pioneer Press had a nice writeup about Commedia Beauregard and how, not only are they doing this show, but they are also doing some scenes from the Klingon Hamlet to be filmed by Paramount as a DVD extra for "Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country." The picture here is our SQuja' (Scrooge) working on his makeup.
(In case you're interested, the show is Saturday, December 13th at the Paul and Shelia Wellstone Center in St. Paul. http://www.cbtheatre.org/KCC2008.htm)
